I get a bit “nostalgic” when it comes to my old high school. This is a scan of an old picture taken about 30 or so years ago with what I believe was a pocket instamatic camera so the quality is not all that good. It’s a shot I took of my old high school building being torn down to make room for a small housing complex.
Being from a small town, the school was an important part of the community and provided a connection between old and young. It would have been nice to see it converted into something rather than demolished so at least there was still something there serving as a link to the past and the many generations of kids who walked the halls.
It’s always such a shame when old buildings are pulled down. In my opinion we don’t build as well or as prettily as we used to.
I agree about the appropriateness of the grainy look. It would have been nice if it had been converted but I’m glad you have the memories.

Not much to work with from the original but agree, glad to have the shot…thanks Janet.
How sad, but great that you still had the shot! I think the graininess of the photo helps to accentuate the nostalgia idea.
Yeah, I see now how the graininess does give it a more nostalgic feel…thanks for the comment Tina.
