For this week’s photo challenge, I ventured to the Oakland area of Pittsburgh to get a few shots of a different kind of ‘monument’ here in town.
This is part of the original outfield wall as it stood in the old Forbes Field baseball park…home of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1909 to 1970. This is where Pirate second baseman Bill Mazeroski hit his famous walk off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning in game 7 of the 1960 World Series against the New York Yankees to give the Bucs the world championship.
A wonderful choice Andy! Should have known you’d find a baseball image 🙂
Ha Ha…couldn’t resist. It’s that time of year even though we had snow flurries today…ugh! Thanks Tina.
