A 95 mile per hour fastball is an “ephemeral” sight to a batter in the major leagues. As it approaches the plate, he has a fraction of a second to decide whether to swing at it or watch it go by, disappearing into the catcher’s glove.
In the shot above, the batter was “caught looking” as they say, for strike three. Have a seat on the bench young man, you’re out! The ball was there and gone in the blink of an eye.
