Crazy how these challenges work sometimes. This week’s guest host Viveka chose ‘Capital’ as the subject and I just happen to be in Harrisburg, the capital city of Pennsylvania this weekend. Unfortunately, it was a gray, gloomy weather weekend and I didn’t have much time to get around the city.
But I did take a quick ride by the ‘capitol’ building to get a few shots.
It’s an impressive structure that I’m going to have to revisit when I have more time to look around.
I’ve been to the Harrisburg area many times and just never made it to the capitol building.
Looking out from the steps of the capitol. The fountain must be off for the winter or maybe just the weekend.
Thanks to Viveka for this week’s lens artists photo challenge.
Even in the clouds these are great photos!
Impressive buildings…so cool
Thanks for the comment Saania…
My pleasure
Impressive building – just love the green roof! Is it copper? It is such a light green. And I agree with Tina – looking forward to a spring(!)shot!
The roof is actually made of glazed terra cotta tiles. It is a nice color. Thanks for the comment Ann-Christine.
😊
Impressive building. I lived in central PA when I was a kid but never made it to Harrisburg.
Sometimes the closest places are the easiest to overlook. Thanks for stopping by John.
Great shots of the capital building!
Thanks Amy.
Andy, very impressive buildings … never been to Pennsylvania, I really like the fountain image … very majestic! Thanks for playing along.
Thanks Viveka…good idea for the challenge.
Good timing Andy! Did you make a special trip to the capitol just for us!? Would love to see the fountain when it’s flowing-will you go back for us in the spring ?😊
Well, it didn’t start out that way. I had to persuade a full carload (kids/adults) to take the scenic route and swing by the capitol so I could get a few quick shots. 🙂 What can I say Tina, getting back in the weekly photo challenge routine again, lol. And sure, I will drop by on a warm sunny day for some shots when the fountain is flowing.
LOL, appreciate your commitment!
