Interesting idea offered by Ann-Christine for the photo challenge this week…’Spots and Dots.’ I searched my archives for any shots that might work and didn’t have much of anything that fit. So I had to rev up the old “way-back machine” to try and come up with something.
I started with a visit to a cool ‘spot’ in the downtown Pittsburgh Strip District, Grandpa Joe’s Candy Store. They have just about every kind of candy you could remember eating as a kid.Remember these? You can’t beat ‘dots’ on paper 🙂 These were pretty much a staple in my little bag of candy as a kid.It seemed like I got a box of ‘Dots’ anytime I went to the movies…wasn’t a big fan of Chuckles for some reason. And since I was popping back in time, anyone remember this game? We used to call it ‘dots’ and we played it quite a bit in school. And just tossing this shot in since it has some cool dots on it 🙂So that’s my take on the photo challenge this week. Hope it stirred up some fun childhood memories for you. Now I think I’ll dig into some of this other candy that I picked up at Grandpa Joe’s.
Thanks to Ann-Christine for the photo challenge theme for this week.

Love your take on. Fun and creative, indeed. I love the dot candy especially. 🙂
Thanks Amy…glad you enjoyed it 🙂
What a creative post Andy! I enjoyed seeing the dots candy from from days gone by even though I did eat them much. As for the peanut butter cups, twix bars and chocolate kisses – that’s a different story. Actually, I was enjoying a chocolate kiss just a few minutes ago! And, I certainly remember playing dots in school. Thanks for the memories!
Thanks Sylvia, glad you enjoyed it. Hard to resist the chocolate candy…lol.
VERY well done selections. Good job!
Thanks John, appreciate the comment 🙂
This was a great response and like Ann Christine, the candy doesn’t look familiar but the game dots was something I was dotty about in school. It certainly took me back in time . 😊
Thanks Sheetal…it’s been a while since I played the dots game and probably spent way too uch time playing it in school…lol.
I was thinking the same . The game was a perfect antidote to class boredom. 😁
I still love the Dots! How did I not think of that.
I actually hadn’t seen them in a while or just didn’t notice them. But they popped in my head after thinking about the challenge. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂
LOL for Ann-Christine’s comment about not recognizing the candy Andy. I was a HUGE consumer of the dots on paper; I truly loved them. In hindsight they didn’t really offer much but somehow they were one of my favorite treats. Never a big fan of the box of dots but they were big at the movies “back in the day”. My favorite there was malted milk balls but I haven’t had one of those in years! Fun choice for the week.
Thanks Tina…and I love malted milk balls too. I must have missed them at that store. I’m have to think they had them. Might be time for another trip…lol.
Hey, you are the first one to use candy! Great! Even if i don’t recognize any of these, it is great fun you used them. And the DOTS made me smile – how perfect can it be!
Always feels good to make someone smile Ann-Christine…glad you enjoyed it.
